Welkom bij Zwemvereniging Upstream Amsterdam

Upstream Amsterdam is een gay zwemvereniging met circa 120 leden, gevestigd in Amsterdam. De vereniging bestaat sinds 1996 en heeft als doel haar leden een platform te bieden om de zwemsport op een zo hoog mogelijk niveau te beoefenen. Tijdens de trainingen staat het optimaliseren van de eigen zwemtechniek en conditie centraal. Upstream neemt deel aan nationale en internationale zwemtoernooien en organiseert ook 2-jaarlijks een eigen toernooi (rond Valentijnsdag). Upstream is aangesloten bij de Koninklijke Nederlandse Zwem Bond en neemt deel aan het Landelijk Overleg van homozwemverenigingen. De vereniging is bekend om zowel haar sportieve als haar gezellige karakter. Niet-zwem activiteiten zoals de Nieuwjaarsborrel, het Songfestival-feest, de jaarlijkse barbecue en de maandelijkse borrel dragen hier aan bij.

Welcome to Swimming Club Upstream Amsterdam

Upstream Amsterdam is a gay swimming club with around 120 members and established in Amsterdam. The club has been active since 1996 and has as its objective to offer its members a platform to practice swimming at the highest possible level. The improvement of one's swimming technique and condition are the focus during the training sessions. Upstream takes part in national and international swimming competitions and also organises its own cometition every other year (around Valentine's Day). Upstream is a member of the Royal Dutch Swimming Federation and takes part in the 'National Collective' of gay swimming clubs. The club is known for both its sportive and social nature. Non-swimming activities such as the New Years Social, The Song Festival Party, the annual barbecue and the monthly get-together all contribute to this.
